A Crocheter’s Gift Guide – Crochet Indulgence

2015 Crocheter's Gift Guide - Crochet Indulgence | www.thestitchinmommy.com

Last year I did a post on great stocking stuffers for crocheters that were $20 and under. It’s a little late this year but I have decided to do another gift guide for that special crocheter in your life (Hey, it’s never too late for a great gift!) This year I thought that it would be nice to show you some “indulgent” items for your crocheter (or yourself.) Sometimes we want things that are maybe not in our price range or something that we couldn’t fathom spending money on. However, when the holidays roll around, I know that when my friends/family ask me what I would like for Christmas, I have this secret list in the back of my mind of all of those fabulous things I wanted but wouldn’t buy for myself. My friends and family aren’t really involved in crochet or crafts so it can be difficult for them to gauge what I would want or even like. It’s nice to be able to give them a list of general items that I like so they can get a sense of what I enjoy and do for a living. I hope you enjoy the list and share it with your friends and family too!

Yarn:

Let’s face it, I can’t live without yarn. I live and breathe yarn. I normally don’t buy anything too fancy because I would basically want to use it for myself and hey, when do I really ever make anything for myself? I have decided that in the new year, if I get some pretty yarn, I vow to make something that is just for me 🙂 Here is some great yarn that your crocheter can indulge in:

Chai “Luster” Superwash Merino Tencel Sport from Expression Fiber Arts®:

I recently purchased some gorgeous yarn from Chandi over at Expression Fiber Arts® and I can tell you that I am absolutely in LOVE! The yarn is as gorgeous in person as it is in the photos. I really love this colorway but Chandi has so many more colorways to fall in love with. There are neutral colors, vibrant colors, and everything in between. There is a yarn to match every personality. If you are looking for some luscious yarn to spoil that special crocheter with, visit Expression Fiber Arts®!

Crochet Hooks:

Having the right tools is a must for any crocheter. Here are a few of my favorite tools to splurge on:

Furls Alpha Series Crochet Hooks:

I love my Furls hooks! They are great to hold and glide smoothly through yarn. They are also very pretty to look at 🙂

Clover Amour Large Crochet Hooks

Working with chunky yarn can be difficult if you don’t have proper hooks. I personally love these large Clover Amour hooks. They make crocheting with thick yarns really easy and fun! They have the same ergonomic handles as the regular Clover Amour hooks but are made with a plastic hook, which glide nicely through thicker yarns.

Bags and Accessories:

Thirty One Gifts Mini Zipper Pouch:

I love my Thirty One Mini Zipper pouch for storing my hooks and notions. It’s small enough to fit in my project bag or purse so I can take it with me anywhere I need to go! Need a Thirty One consultant? Contact me and I can help you!

Thirty One Gifts Go-To Tote:

I love this Go-To Tote because it is roomy enough for my large projects and has a ton of pockets to store other things. Best of all, you can personalize it for that special someone. Contact me for ordering information.

Craft Space Items and Tools:

Ottlite 13W Craft Space Organizer Lamp:

I just recently got an Ottlite and I LOVE it! It is sitting on my desk in my craft room/office and it holds my hooks, yarn, and other craft items. The light is great for when I am working late at night to get those little projects done, which is especially great during this time of year. Any crocheter would appreciate an Ottlite lamp.

Utility Cart from The Container Store:

This cart is great to store yarn and notions next to a comfy chair.

RASKOG Cart from Ikea

This cart is another great place to store yarn and notions next to your crocheter’s comfy chair. It’s bright and adds a great pop of color to any space.

Online Classes:

I always love to learn new things about crochet, knitting, and especially photography. I don’t really have the time to find a class where I have to leave my home to attend. I love these fabulous online classes that are now being offered. They are great because you can go at your own pace and still be able to ask questions. Some of the classes are also free!
