Hi everyone! I am so excited to bring you the last pattern of mine for the Holiday Blog Hop! Not only is this pattern simple, but it makes a great addition to your holiday table. Here is the free pattern for my Swirled Holiday Coaster. I hope you enjoy them! Happy Crocheting!

ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
dc
 – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sk – skip

* – indicates instructions to be repeated

Finished Size:

4.5″ in diameter

  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • All stitches are worked through both loops unless otherwise noted.

With Color A,

Magic Circle, ch 1
Round 1: *Work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc into magic circle,** pull up a loop and remove hook. Join Color B in magic circle, repeat from * to **  Pull up a loop and remove hook. Join Color C in magic circle, repeat from * to ** Close magic circle. (12)

Round 2: With Color C still on your hook, work 2 dc into each of the next 4 sts, use a stitch marker to mark the last st (the last st will be the st that has the loop of Color A pulled up). Pull up a loop and remove hook. Insert hook into the loop of Color A, 2 dc into each of the next 4 sts, use a stitch marker to mark the last st (the last st will be the st that has the loop of Color B pulled up) Pull up a loop and remove hook. Insert hook into the loop of Color B, 2 dc into each of the next 4 sts, mark last st with stitch marker. (24)

Round 3: With Color B still on your hook, work 2 dc into each of the next 8 sts, use a stitch marker to mark the last st (the last st will be the st that has the loop of Color C pulled up). Pull up a loop and remove hook. Insert hook into the loop of Color C, 2 dc into each of the next 8 sts, use a stitch marker to mark the last st (the last st will be the st that has the loop of Color A pulled up) Pull up a loop and remove hook. Insert hook into the loop of Color A, 2 dc into each of the next 8 sts, mark last st with stitch marker.(48)

Round 4: With Color A still on hook, hdc into each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in the next st, pull up a loop and drop Color A. Pick up the loop from Color B, 1 hdc into the next st, sc into each of the next 2 sts, fasten off Color B. Pick up the loop from Color C, 1 hdc in the next st, sc into each of the next 2 sts, fasten off Color C. Pick up the loop from Color A, sc into each of the next 15 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sc in the next 15 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sk next st, join with an invisible join in the next st. Fasten off, weave all ends. (43)

The coaster isn’t perfectly round but I like that it’s a little bit quirky. You can also join another color and create an nice border around the coaster to even it out a bit more.
